What legal requirements must gun cases meet?
For a long time, it has been a requirement that weapons that do not require a licence, such as air rifles, alarm guns, airsoft or paintball markers and the associated ammunition, must be protected from access by minors. In addition, since May 2017, unlicensed weapons may no longer be stored ‘just like that’. The new Weapons Act stipulates that a locked container is required for the transport and storage of unlicensed weapons. Unlike weapons that require a licence, however, a special gun cabinet or gun safe is not necessary – a container with a lock is sufficient.
